On March 7th and 8th the Jugend forscht Lower Bavaria regional competition took place in our hometown Passau. 105 participants presented 65 projects, such as complex mathematical theories or environmentally friendly circuit boards.
For decades, our company has been actively involved in the regional Jugend forscht contest. „This year we again hosted the event together with the other official sponsoring companies at the University of Passau.“ says Frank P. Salzberger, Managing Director. „We also donated a 75 € special award and our application engineer Mr. Sickinger was once more part of the jury-team that evaluated the projects.“
The special award went to Dominik Limmer (21), winner of the category Physics/ Youth. He researched how the modulus of elasticity of a metallic material can be measured non-destructively.
The jury awarded a total of eleven first places in the various categories. The winners now advance to the contest series at state level where they can qualify for the Federal Contest at the end of May.
