Dilatometry
For the analysis of the thermal dilation of extremely large samples, Linseis Messgeräte GmbH has developed The Macro Dilatometer as a custom product. With very large sample materials it is not possible to find their structure in a small sample. This device even allows the analysis of large samples of up to 100 x 50 mm. The Macro Dilatometer is used, for example, to test the thermal expansion of refractory products. Heating the samples requires an oxygen-free atmosphere.
Challenge
A clean inert gas atmosphere is generated by completely evacuating the measuring chamber. During the entire process, the vacuum must be kept constant at 1e-5 mbar.
Solution
VSP63DL: The precise Pirani vacuum transmitter with integrated display is used to monitor the vacuum generated in the measuring chamber. With its robust helical filament, it is ideal for precise measurements in the fine vacuum range. The measured values are transmitted to the Linseis analysis software via the 0-10 V interface.
