As a pioneer in the field of vacuum metrology, Thyracont Vacuum Instruments extends its well-proven product family Smartline by a further digital interface of cutting-edge technology. The vacuum transducers of this series measure absolute pressure in the range of 1200 to 5e-10 mbar. In addition to their standard RS485 interface/ 0-10 V, they are optionally available with EtherCAT and now also with Profinet.
In the field of industrial Ethernet variations, Profinet has succeeded the classic fieldbus system Profibus and has evolved to be the new standard. Profinet offers clear advantages to the user in terms of flexibility, openness, efficiency and performance.In this context, a special focus should be placed on the possibility to use infrastructure of an already existing network with any topology, data rates of 100 Mbit/s in full-duplex as well as the almost unlimited number of participants and the efficient diagnostic functions.
